Broken Lizard Latest News
by admin on Sep.12, 2010, under Cool Stuff, Entertainment, Strange Stuff
Ok,I know this isn’t more normal blog material, like there is a normal, but… I so dig Broken Lizard, they have made some funny, strange cult movies. I ran across this “special” last night on Comedy Central and it was GOOD!!!. I am thinking of
getting the DVD when it releases. When I was looking up the release info, I cam across this. I didn’t know they did another movie after Beer Fest. The latest film, although it appears to have been released on DVD and BLU-RAY in April of this year. http://www.slamminmovie.com/. The synopsis….
“Slammin” Clean Salmon (Michael Clarke Duncan)is a former Heavyweight Champion of the World turned celebrity owner of a high end Miami seafood restaurant, The Slammin’ Salman. A terrifying bull of a man, Salmon uses fear to rule over his misfit waitstaff (Broken Lizard’s Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Sate, Erilt Stalhanske, as well as Cobie Smulders and April Bowlby) and on this particular night, he takes his bullying skills to a new level. In an effort to pay off a gambling debt to the Japanese Yakuza, Salmon sets up a contest to ‘inspire’ his waitstaff to sell more food than they ever have before: the top selling server wins $10,000 while the waiter in last place gets served with a broken rib sandwich—courtesy of the Champ himself. Spurred on by greed and panic, the staff resort to backstabbing, bribery and indecent proposals in an attempt to upsell their patrons while simultaneously sabotaging their coworkers. As the hours pass, the dining room action becomes more frenzied as the contest escalates into a brawl for first place in order to win the money.
Here is the release info on the Comedy Central Live special. Yet another item I will need to add to my collection.

Redneck Games
by admin on Jul.15, 2009, under Entertainment
Well, the other day I got into a conversation about a certain item and if it can be considered offensive due to stereotyping. (you know who you
are!). So, in honor of Dallas Cowboys player Martellus Bennett and his Olympics, I bring you news of the Redneck Southern version. The scary thing is this is an actual even. If you go, you can look forward to such time honored events such as, The Starter Toss, The Butt-Crack Contest, The Spam Eating Contest, The MudPit Belly Buster, and the RedNeck “Fear Factor” (I can only imagine what that entails). But wait. If you act now I will include at no extra charge these extra events, The Mattress Chuck as well as The Daisy Duke Show-Off (funny on their site it list this as women only, really?). You know, I am speechless and a little ashamed after writing this. I am also a little creeped out and scared. You know, I have nothing further to add.
New Karate Kid?
by admin on Jul.13, 2009, under Entertainment
Rumor has it a remake of the infamous The Karate Kid is in the works. Jaden Smith (Will Smith’s son) and Jackie Chan are said to be the main characters Will Smith is even said to be involved in the writing of it. The makers don’t want to many ties to
the old movie so they are trying to separate themselves. Now, they think some subtle changes will mask the movie for those and we will treat it like new. The movie is said to be now based in China as opposed to the original California. Oh ya, they aren’t associating with Karate, its Kung Fu. The name was once rumored to be the Kung Fu Kid,but that has been shot down in recent days. I guess Hollywood’s washing machine is getting way to old and not even trying anymore to find original material. I think I might have actually been confused and fooled enough to go see it, then I woke up.
Long live Cobra Kai!
